By downloading, installing, or using the BeChef app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

BeChef is a recipe management app that allows you to import, organize, and store recipes. Our service includes:

  • AI-powered recipe extraction from URLs, images, videos, and documents
  • Recipe organization with cookbooks and collections
  • Grocery list generation from recipes
  • Meal planning features
  • Recipe sharing and collaboration

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to use BeChef. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload content that infringes on third-party intellectual property rights
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or its servers
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the service
  • Share your account credentials with others

5. Content and Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of any content you upload to BeChef. By using our service, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

Recipes extracted by our AI are provided for your personal use. We do not claim ownership of recipes imported or created through the app. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any content you import.

6. Subscriptions and Credits

BeChef may offer free and paid tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store. Smart Import credits are consumed when processing recipes and reset according to your subscription plan.

  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID settings
  • Refunds are handled according to Apple's refund policies
  • Unused credits do not roll over between billing periods

7. Service Availability

We strive to keep BeChef available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.

8. Limitation of Liability

BeChef is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon account deletion, your data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or app notification. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
